Summerstone is a small family run construction business and I intend it to stay that way. We do natural stone, (mostly flagstone and retaining walls) , decks, porches and small additions, such as screened porches or sunrooms. I like doing unusual or difficult work.We don't cut corners. I'm happy to help clients come up with a suitable design for their place , but I have absolutely no "designer agenda".  

I always work on the jobsite. My daughter , Clara , sometimes works with me as well. Occasionally, I also have other people helping out, usually subcontractors or students.

I often have had people telling me that , with the quality of our work, we could be a much larger company, but the satisfaction is in actually building well made things, not supervising a lot of people. When I have allowed the business to grow to 8 or 10 employees, it just resulted in frustration and speeding tickets.
